Who we are
Alternative Accounting Services is operated by Choice Business Services Ltd. ("we", "us"), head office 281 Canada Avenue, Unit 202B, Duncan, BC V9L 1T6. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
When you contact us: the name, email address, phone number (optional) and message you enter in our contact form, or the details you give us by phone.
When you browse this site: we use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used — for example which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located (city level), device and browser type, how visitors found us, and whether they used the contact form or tapped a phone number. Google Analytics uses cookies. We use this information in aggregate; we do not use it to identify you, and we have turned off Google’s optional data-sharing settings.
How we use it
To respond to your enquiry, to provide the services you ask us for, and to understand and improve our website. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated purposes without your consent.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the website and our email (web hosting, Google Workspace and Google Analytics), and only as needed to provide those services — or where the law requires it. Some of these providers may store information outside Canada.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept in our business email for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain our business records. Analytics data is kept for a limited period set in our Google Analytics settings.
Cookies and your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The website works without cookies.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use (subject to legal or contractual limits). Contact us using the details below.
